Missing Template Selection in WordPress
This is a problem that has plagued me from time to time, and it’s a frustrating problem whose solution is quite simple, so I share it here in case it helps others.
Have you ever gone to create or edit a page within WordPress and noticed that the drop down list where you used to select a page template is missing? If you have any unique page templates on your Wordpres site, this list usually appears beneath where you choose your page parent. This little bug can sometimes appear after you’ve done an upgrade of your WordPress install.
To fix the problem, head on over to Appearance > Themes and activate another theme. Your Default theme will do nicely, if you haven’t deleted it. Then, activate your chosen theme again and your page template selection should be back in place.
