LittleSnapper. Sharing made simple.
Those of us who design websites for a living know the process of having to submit concepts to clients. My own process involves me having to annotate screen shots of design concepts and shuffling these concepts back and forth with some kind of version control in place to make sense of the workflow. I have used a number of tools in the past that help facilitate this process. Skitch is a recent favourite.
Recently released is another Mac application that I really like called LittleSnapper. Done by the good folks at RealMac, who also produce RapidWeaver, LittleSnapper offers a nice way for me to screenshot concepts, annotate them, and post them online for clients to view. Sharing your screen captures is pretty slick and can be done through their own QuickSnapper service, Flickr, or your own FTP server. You can even export out to a PDF file, for those who prefer something a little more tactile.
Where LittleSnapper outshines Skitch, in my opinion, is in how easy it is to use. RealMac seems have a good understanding of how people work and they don’t sacrifice function for simplicity. As someone who tends to work quickly, I really appreciate this. I can see lots of uses for this app and it’s a good value at $39US. Don’t take my word for it though, go grab the demo.
Truth be told, I don’t blog often, but when I do you can read it here. Generally you will find the odd post about a particular piece of technology or useful web application that’s caught my eye.
